hardy tree found from Asia, over Eastern China and Korea to the Himalayas (up to
altitudes of 2,000 m), growing preferably in a sunny position on moist sandy or
loamy soils. The tree has been introduced as an ornamental tree to several
countries, and the fruit is also edible. The fleshy rachis of the infructescence
is sweet, fragrant and is edible raw or cooked. Dried, they look and taste like
raisins. An extract of the seeds, bough and young leaves can be used as a
substitute for honey and is used for making wine and candy.
Amomum villosum - A plant in the ginger family
that is grown throughout Southeast Asia and in South China. Similar to cardamom,
the plant is cultivated for their fruits, which dry into pods when mature and
contain strongly aromatic seeds. The pods are used in Chinese cuisines to
flavour soups and in Chinese herbology to treat stomach ache and dysentery.
Honey - Drinking honey water can effectively
reduce headaches after drunk. This is because honey contains a special kind of
fructose, it can promote the decomposition of alcohol absorption, relieve
headaches, especially red wine headaches.
Olive - Olive is the "good medicine" for hangover
since ancient times. It can effectively improve the symptoms of anorexia drink.
